African Mishale Velvet Cream Liqueur (Cape Velvet)

Mix Together:
1 tin condensed milk.
1 large tub of fresh cream
2 tablespoons of Ricoffy
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup of KWV African Mishale brandy

Mix well and let it stand overnight.

Our butchery has now increased the range of flavoured biltong. Garlic biltong is doing well in the taste tests in the shops and will be a hanging choice in the shops. We have also started making Pepper biltong due to requests. Chilli Chutney biltong is now part and parcel of our range. We use Mrs Balls chutney with a sprinkling of chilli to produce a nice sticky, but finger licking good biltong with a little bite. We are selling the biltong vacuum-packed in the shops.

Boiled Fruit Cake

Ingredients:

500g mixed fruit
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup of water
125g margerine
1 tsp mixed spice
1/4 cup of brandy
pinch of salt
Boil above ingredients together for 5 mins. Cool.

2 beaten eggs
1 tsp bicarb - dissolved in a bit of boiling water. Add these two ingredients to cold fruit mix.
Lastly add 2 cups of cake flour.
Pour into greased pan and bake at 180C for 1 hour.
Decorate if desired
